Alberta winter can look like a Christmas card at times.
This bee died in the flower and it closed up on him. These flowers only open up for half the day. This one either closed on a dead bee or trapped him when it closed. Either way work will kill you.
During one of the frosty days in Alberta I found this owl sitting in the trees and then he dropped down onto the ground. I spent about half an hour - it was very cold - watching him and he let me get very close. Canada
